Shot put champion Emma Berg has joined an elite group as a multiple winner of the H.H. Hunter Athlete of the Year for Athletics Bendigo Region for the 2020-21. A silver medal in shot put at the national championships in Sydney capped another outstanding track and field season by South Bendigo Athletics Club's star. The H.H. Hunter Athlete of the Year, proudly sponsored by the Gill family, honours a champion sprinter who was killed at Gallipoli.

HIGH jump champion Liam Shadbolt has earned the Geoff Major Rising Star trophy in Flack Advisory Services Group-backed Athletics Bendigo Region's awards for the 2020-21 track and field season. The young gun from near Swan Hill was in hot form at several AV Shield League rounds for Bendigo Harriers and at state and national titles.

In a fierce contest to claim a top two spot on the division two ladder and promotion to premier league for next season, Eaglehawk scored 28,646 points in the latest round at the Flora Hill complex.

Region hauls in nine medals at 2021 Athletics Victoria Track and Field Championships

The Flack Advisory Services Group-backed Athletics Bendigo Region achieved a medal haul of four silver and five bronze in last weekend’s finale to Athletics Victoria’s open and under-age track and field championships. Athletes from Bendigo Harriers, Bendigo University, Eaglehawk, and South Bendigo were in fine form across Saturday and Sunday at Lakeside Stadium in Melbourne’s Albert Park precinct. The biggest haul on weekend two of the championships was in the pole vault.

Preview 2021 Victorian Multi-Event Championships

Saturday’s and Sunday’s action at the Retreat Road complex in Flora Hill includes many vying for Australian Masters and Victorian Masters titles.
