Athletics Bendigo round out track and field season with Memorials and Ern Hammer competitions

Athletes in Bendigo are invited to round out the 2023/24 track and field season with Memorials and Ern Hammer competitions this March. Ern Hammer - Saturday 16th March 2024 and Bendigo Memorials, which include the Sally Conroy Memorial (200m), Richard Kitt Memorial (1500m) & Little Athletics 200m, 800m on Friday 22nd March.

Athletics Bendigo Region clubs excelled at last weekend’s 79th running of the Victorian Country Track and Field Championships in Ballarat. Just as it had done the previous six editions, Eaglehawk reigned supreme in the race for the Margaret Saunders Country Cup as number one club on the Australia Day holiday weekend. The Hawks scored 1423 ½ points to hold the Cup after three days of hot competition at Llanberris Reserve in Golden Point.

McKindlay, Boyd and Berg win gold at Athletics Victoria’s 2022-23 Track and Field Championships at Lakeside Stadium

GOLD and a residential record to Eaglehawk's Angus McKindlay in the Open Mens 400m Hurdles capped Bendigo Region's run at Athletics Victoria's latest state field and track championships, which also included a gold medal for Shot put star Emma Berg and Harrison Boyd in the Under-20 3000m. Jayden Padgham took the silver behind Boyd whilst Tullie Rowe opened the weekend with a sublime run to silver in the Open Women's 1500m.
