EAGLEHAWK holds all three major teams challenge trophies after the weekend’s running of the 77th Victoria Country Track and Field Championships in Bendigo. The St Anne’s Vineyards-sponsored event drew hundreds of competitors from near and far to the Retreat Road complex in Flora Hill on January 28-30, 2022. Centre Records were broken in sprints, distance races, relays and throws.
Bendigo is playing host to the 77th Victorian Country Track & Field Championships are being held this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (28th-30th January 2022).
CONSISTENCY by many of long-time athletes and several newcomers has played a big part in Eaglehawk Athletics Club holding third place on the Premier division ladder after seven rounds of AVSL track and field action. The Hawks again featured prominently in the most valuable athlete standings for the round. Eaglehawk and Bendigo Harriers both put in strong performances at Saturday’s twilight meet at the Bendigo Regional Athletics Complex in Retreat Road, Flora Hill to be third in their divisions.
As an athlete, Logan Tickell knows it’s not just all about running lap after lap. Since he joined the Athlete Development Program at Bendigo South East College three years ago, Tickell has built up leg strength for the intensity of racing and training. He is now turning his attention to some bigger races as we start 2022.
VICTORIOUS in Athletics Bendigo’s memorial finals, Melissa Douglas and Cameron Smith will now target success at the upcoming Victoria Country track and field championships. Douglas and Smith will be among hundreds to compete at the Bendigo Regional Athletics Complex in Retreat Road, Flora Hill across the weekend of January 28 to 30.
