UNIVERSITY’S Brian ‘Doc’ Watson won the latest 3000m heat in Flack Advisory Bendigo Region’s Tuesday Night Series.

A field of eight raced in blustery conditions at the Latrobe University Bendigo athletics complex in Retreat Road, Flora Hill.

Although he was the fourth oldest runner in the race at the age of 49, Watson ran an impressive time of 10 minutes 34.12 seconds for the 7 ½ lap contest.

Runner-up was Eaglehawk’s Jake Rusbridge, 10:49, from newcomer Rory Flanagan, 11:00.

First female and fourth overall was Alice Wilkinson from Bendigo Harriers in 11:38 from clubmates Anne Buckley and Yvette Palmer.
