Run the iconic Bendigo Dragon Mile – a mile long foot race on the famous Bendigo Easter procession route in front of thousands of spectators. – a mile long foot race on the famous Bendigo Easter procession route in front of thousands of spectators. Presented by the Bendigo Harriers Athletics Club.
Where does the race go?
The Dragon Mile starts and finishes at the corner of Pall Mall and Mundy Street. Runners travel to the Fountain and turn right up View Street to Dudley House, they then turn around and return back to start.
RACES / CATEGORIES / SCHEDULE
Date: SUNDAY 9 April 2023
Location: Corner of Pall Mall and Mundy Street, Bendigo
Males & Females run together except Mini Mile.
10:00am – Entrants please report on Race Day by 10.00am to starting point in Pall Mall at Gold Monument (near race start) to collect Race Bib Number.
1) 10:30am – Mini Mile Girls Gr.4 & under
2) 10:45am – Mini Mile Boys Gr.4 & under
3) 11:00am – Primary School Gr. 5 & 6
4) 11:15am – Secondary School Yr 7-8
5) 11:30am – Secondary School Yr 9-10
6) 11:45am – Secondary School Yr 11-12
7) 11:45am – Open, 40+ and 50+
AWARDS
BENDIGO BANK DRAGON MILE
OPEN & FINAL RACE: Male and Female 1st: $300, 2nd $100, 3rd $50 (should a Year 11-12 or 40+ athlete finish top 3 for each gender they will be elevated into the prize money and category above as well as their age group.)
VETERAN 40+: Male and Female
1st: $40, 2nd $20, 3rd $10
VETERAN 50+: Male and Female
1st: $40
SASHES for all winners (except Veteran40+ and 50+)
RIBBONS for all finishes.
EASTER EGG for Primary School finishes.
$100 VOUCHER
For the purchase of sports equipment and awarded to winning Male and Female school team, Trophies for team members (3 member teams )
GYM CHALLENGE
The Gym Challenge is a brand new initative for the 2023 Bendigo Bank Dragon Mile, the Gym Challenge cup will be awarded to the winning Gym team with the 1st 2 Male and 1st 2 Females across the line on accumulative time.
